Sikhamoni Bora is a Research Scholar of FRI
University, Dehradun. Earlier served as an Assistant Professor at
Department of Botany; Dakhin Kamrup College, Mirza and former Junior Project
fellow at Rain Forest Research Institute; Jorhat, Assam. She is also associated
with various Research Programme and livelihood related activities organized by
different Institution.
“For me, being
a student of Life Science background it is difficult to manage time for other
work, but beyond this, I started my journey with the SEWA Organisation in 2016
as a team member to fulfill my small desire to do work other than my studies.
Then in a livelihood training programme at Cotton University, I came to know
about SEWA Organisation. Without a second thought, I have joined the
organization as a member. Now I have realized that it is the best decision of
my life I have ever made. It has influenced me in every single time of my life.
Though it is not my profession, it is a small step of mine towards some good
work for society. In these years we have made several sacrifices to make the
challenge to fulfill and intended to do more for our society and people”.
