Developing the habit of Sericulture of among the Youths by Rearing Assam Silk for Sustainable living
India is the only country in the world that produces all the five kinds of silk namely Mulberry, Eri, Muga, Tropical Tasar and Temperate Tasar and more interestingly Assam produces three of them. From ancient times Assamese people have taken this only as traditional cultivation but are still lacking behind the economics and modern skills of Sericulture. So in order to modernize and improvise our silk rearing farmers, SEWA has come up with an initiative of developing the habit of Sericulture as well as to popularise the same among youths. This program is supported by North East Centre for Technology and Reach (NECTAR) and it is all set to start from Dhakukhana, Lakhimpur, Assam
